Media Release – 3/28/2019

Possession of Heroin / Paraphernalia
On 3/28/2019 at 9:40 am, SBRPD officers served an arrest warrant on a 34 yr old male on W. Sixth St. in Wind Gap Borough. Inside the home, officers observed drug paraphernalia and heroin packets in plain view. Officers seized 13 heroin packets, various pills and other drug related items from the home. The officers arrested the male, who was remanded to the Northampton County Correctional Center on $25,000 bail.

Possession of Methamphetamine / Paraphernalia
On 3/26/2019 at 1:08 am, an SBRPD officer stopped a vehicle on S. Broadway for traffic violations. Inside, the officer located methamphetamine and needles along with various items of drug paraphernalia. The officer arrested a 36 yr old female from Bethlehem and a 29 year old male from Easton for drug charges.

Media Release – 3/17/2019

On 3/17/2019 at 1:30 pm, SBRPD officers responded to a report of a dispute on W. Main St. in Pen Argyl Borough. Police learned that a 52 yr old male from the 200 block of W. Main St. in Pen Argyl was involved in an argument with residents of an apartment in the 200 block of W. Main St. During the argument, the male pushed the resident. A Harassment citation was issued against the male.

Possession of Controlled Substance
46 yr old female – Pen Argyl
On 3/5/2019 an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle infraction. Upon further investigation, drugs were located in the vehicle and officers applied for a Search Warrant. Upon completion of the vehicle search numerous drugs and paraphernalia were discovered. The female was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Paraphernalia and traffic offenses.

36 yr old male – Pen Argyl
On 3/5/2019 Officers were dispatched to a residence on N Westbrook Avenue, Pen Argyl for a domestic disturbance between a male and female. Police arrested the male who has been charged with Harassment.

Media Release – 3/4/2019

On 3/1/2019 at 11:03am, SBRPD responded to a report of an attempted retail theft at the Giant Food Store, 837 Male Rd in Wind Gap. Police learned that the offender walked out of Giant with over $140.00 in groceries and was stopped by loss prevention personnel. The offender was cited for summary Retail Theft.

2/7/2019 – Driving Under the Influence
37 yr old female – Pen Argyl, PA
At 6:27pm on 2/7/2019, SBRPD responded to a motor vehicle crash at the 900 block of West Pennsylvania Avenue. Both drivers were transported to area hospitals for their injuries. It was determined through blood tests that one of the drivers was under the influence of a controlled substance. The suspect was charged with DUI, General Impairment and related traffic offenses.

2/28/2019 – Harassment
43 yr old male – Wind Gap, PA
Victim reported to police that soon-to-be ex husband was texting and calling excessively after being warned to cease the behavior.  Offender will be cited through the mail.

Arrest – Active Warrant     49 yr old Male – Saylorsburg PA

On 2/22/2019 at 5:22am, a SBRPD officer stopped a vehicle for failure to stop at a stop sign at N. Broadway and Constitution Ave., Wind Gap Borough.  The officer learned that the male was wanted out of Monroe County on an active warrant. The male was taken in to custody and transported to the Monroe County prison.

Possession of Marijuana/Paraphernalia 31 yr old male – Wind Gap PA

On 2/19/2019 at 9:43am, a SBRPD officer was conducting a speed enforcement detail on E. Third St. in Wind Gap Borough.  The officer stopped a vehicle for travelling 53 mph on 3rd. St.  When speaking to the driver, the officer smelled an odor of marijuana.  The driver admitted to having marijuana / paraphernalia in the car. Officers removed the items and charges will be filed at District Magistrate Schlegel’s office in Wind Gap.

Arrest – Simple Assault and Harassment 
41 yr old male – Wernersville PA
On 2/19/2019 at 10:40am, SBRPD officers responded to a report of an assault. Officers learned that the female victim was attempting to leave a residence on W. Main St. in Pen Argyl when the male slapped her and pushed her down a set of stairs. The male had fled the area prior to police arrival. At 10:20pm, a SBRPD officer noted the male’s car in the area of E. Main St. in Pen Argyl Borough. Officers located the male sleeping inside the residence on E. Main St. He was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking for arraignment.
